Osteopathy is a combination of manual techniques such as massage and the manipulation of muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons. Osteopathy combined with acupuncture is used to bring the body back to a cohesive whole. In an osteopathic treatment, the body’s musculoskeletal system is properly aligned, enabling circulatory, lymphatic, and nervous system function; and therefore assisting the body’s ability to heal itself.
Acupuncture points stimulate the central nervous system. This, in turn, releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord and brain. These biochemical changes stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.
The combination of osteopathy and acupuncture work together simultaneously. I only specialize with acupuncture on Musculo-skeletal problems. However, it must be the patient’s choice whether to have the combination or Osteopathy by itself. And at any given time, they can also decide to skip the acupuncture.
